Item Description

Finely detailed and well-executed impressive raised carving of a fantasy unicorn on this lustrous polished, wine-red, textbook hexagonal, corundum (ruby) slice from deposits in the Longido District of Tanzania. The District is well-known for ruby. Modest cherry-red fluorescence. Ex Tim Sherburn collection. A strange, mineral-related oddity, we purchased in part of the collection! 39 grams of ruby.
