Item Description
Intergrown, sharp to moderately sharp, lustrous, translucent, pretty pink ruby crystals form a very showy and uncommon miniature from an ancient locality in Macedonia. This is a rarely available complete-all-around and pristine floater specimen. The marble quarries here date back to at around 500 BCE and were at full peak during Roman times! Ex. Kay Robertson Collection. Her label was lost during the move. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Rarely seen on the market today. The piece GLOWS cherry-red, when backlit and also fluoresces cherry-red!
