Ruby and Sapphire (bi-color gem)

When it comes to Corundum gems (Ruby and Sapphire) Tanzania, has produced some gorgeous gems over the years, including some unique bi-colored stones. We don't see a lot of these gems on the market, but they are among our favorite faceted examples of Corundum. This stone has a distinct reddish-pink (Ruby) hue on one end and then immediately goes into a strong purple (Sapphire) hue on the other end. The stone has very very slight inclusions with what could be called either a "rectangle" or "baguette" cut. The stone is not treated in any way, the bi-colored effect is completely natural. A really cool and COLORFUL gem that would make for a great addition to any collection or a unique piece of jewelry.
