Item Description
Although Ruby is one of those minerals that is known universally, it is incredibly difficult to find specimens featuring superb quality crystals on matrix. This specimen features a few remarkably sharp, very well formed, semi-lustrous, "pigeon-blood" color crystals on marble matrix. The largest Ruby measures 1.1 cm long. The crystals are not at all opaque as the majority of these specimens tend to be, and you can see the color really come through with backlighting. A good Ruby specimen from a locality that is not producing nearly as many good pieces as it did 15 years ago.
