Ruby is one of the most storied gems in the world. Recently, some really fine quality stones have been coming out of Mozambique. This gem has an attractive strong red color, and is certainly gem quality. It has a traditional "oval step" cut.  It should be noted that this stone is most likely glass-filled, which is a technique used to improve the clarity of Rubies, and is an acceptable practice so long as the buyer is aware that they are buying a glass-filled stone. A really attractive stone of this world famous material.
