This gem has an attractive pinkish red color, and is certainly gem quality in clarity. It has a "Round Step" cut. With the political upheaval in Myanmar, these Rubies are now very difficult to obtain, and the sellers markets are completely shut down. Buy this gem now because they could certainly be disappearing from the market rapidly. It must be noted that this stone has most likely been heated to enhance the color, which is a perfectly acceptable practice in the gem world, and is fairly common when it comes to Sapphires and Rubies. Additionally, this stone was imported years ago prior to the old embargo from September 2008.
