Rich cranberry-red color on this sculptural, impressive old-time gemmy/translucent tourmaline from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. Termination edge phantoms of darker red color are visible on the glassy, well-striated prism faces, adding character. The very interestingly formed stout flattened crystal has a satin luster termination face and the cluster of lustrous, lavender lepidolite plates on one side adds much pizzazz. The embedded schorl fragment at the base is an additional bonus to this striking tourmaline combination. It GLOWS juicy red, when back lit! The bit of noted edge wear is certainly only a modest detraction to this colorful and desirable tourmaline. Yes, it has edge wear, but it is IMPACTFUL on a shelf and glows with the best and mos trich color you could ask for. 157 grams mass.
