Often, when Tourmaline is carved, it is because the material is too included to cut for gemstones, so it's really a treat to see a Tourmaline carving that is SO gemmy like this one! This piece is a unique, rich purple-pink color, wonderfully carved Rose with great detail and wonderful crystal clarity! The color could certainly be classified as "Rubellite". You have to admire such a great work of art considering that somebody was attentive enough to put such great detail into a smaller carving such as this.
