Item Description
A surprising, fat and chunky, beautiful variable cranberry to pink colored tourmaline from Burma, not known for producing prismatic crystals of this size and quality in large numbers. It has a cranberry-colored trigonal pyramidal termination with a pretty pink mid-section. The base has a pink rind with a dark cranberry core. The parallel-growth, striated faces beautifully accent the lustrous, translucent crystal. Complete all around and pristine. One side is contacted, where another crystal once lay, but there is no damge, per se. Another side is contacted, with smaller tourmalines and muscovite attached, but no damage. The "glow" shot highlights the crystal translucence, but does not show the true color saturation. Mass is is 105 grams. Ex Pala International Collection and was long on display at the Fallbrook store. Valued at $2000.
