Rubellite Tourmaline (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

Here we have a beautiful single crystal of gemmy Rubellite Tourmaline with sharp, glassy faces and excellent cranberry color. There is a small area with a greenish color at the base of the crystal along with a greenish "stripe" than runs the length of the prism as well. The termination has a lighter pink hue, and is opaque for all intents and purposes. Superficial imperfections keep it from being 100% damage free, but it's still very good quality with unique coloration. The crystal is in excellent shape, and would make a nice addition to any Tourmaline suite, a gem crystal collection, or a miniature collection. The piece came out of a find around 1975. Valued at $950.
