Item Description
Tourmalines are beloved for the fact that they occur in virtually every color of the rainbow, and are often found in larger than average sized gems. Tourmaline is also one of the few gems in the world that can display the highly sought after "cat's eye" effect. This phenomenon occurs when thin fibrous inclusions inside of the stone are oriented to reflect light which resembles the slit eye of a cat. This stone is a great example of said material as it is a very good sized "oval cabochon" with a rich cranberry hue and a wonderful "eye" that shows up beautifully, even in low light. The stone is translucent for all intents and purposes, but that's to be expected with kind of material, it's almost never eye clean.
