Tourmalines are some of the most popular gems in the world for their intense colors in various shades. Going back to the 1990s, Nigeria has produced some top quality Tourmalines, including some of the finest gem grade Rubellite to come out of any country. Here we have a lovely Rubellite Tourmaline with virtually eye clean clarity and a glowing fiery pink hue and an "Emerald" cut. Fine Rubellites can retail as high as $1,000 per carat on the high end gem market, but obviously this stone is not quite of that caliber. It should be noted that this material seems to have dried up in recent years, and good gems with the fiery pink color like this stone are becoming much more difficult to find these days.
