Rubellite is a variety of Tourmaline with a red/pink hue, which gets its name from the Latin word ''rubellus'' = ''reddish''. Rubellite is not tied to a specific species of Tourmaline, only the color. Here we have a beautiful, glowing, good-sized rich reddish-pink Rubellite Tourmaline gem from Brazil with an "Oval" cut and virtually eye-clean clarity. Keep in mind that Tourmaline is classified as a Type-3 gemstones, so inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors, so a stone this size with superb clarity is fairly rare in the gem world.
