Roselite with Cobaltlotharmeyerite and Cobaltaustinite on Dolomite

Item Description

A wonderful association specimen from the famed Aghbar Mine in Morocco featuring beautiful deep pinkish-purple colored micro crystals of Roselite associated with micro brown crystals of the calcium copper arsenate, Cobaltlotharmeyerite along with deep green colored aggregates of Cobaltaustinite sitting on rhombic, off-white colored Dolomite matrix. The accompanying label states that there is cobalt-bearing Talmessite on the specimen, but I couldn't spot it, even under magnification. With that said, we did our best to illustrate the beautiful little crystals with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to show off the quality, especially highlighting the Roselites which are gorgeous up close with sleek vitreous luster and good internal gemminess. A wonderful example of this rare combo of species, that to the best of my knowledge, only occurs together at the Aghbar Mine.
