Item Description
This is a representative specimen of this colorful species, rich with small (2-4mm) crystals of gorgeous red roselite from this best-of-species locality for the material. While not a fancy piece, it preserves a beautiful row of sparkling crystals within a safe pocket, and these are contrasting to sparkly quartz and an unidentified microcrystallized green mineral species. Roselite is basically a calcium carbonate with arsenic that give the color. It differs from the rarer member of the series, wendwilsonite, which has also a bit of magnesium. From a local private collection.
