Roselite

Numerous, lustrous, bright magenta colored Roselite crystals cover much of the display surface of this exceptional small cabinet piece from Bou Azzer, Morocco. The Roselite occurs as super lustrous, interlaced aggregates of 3 to 5 mm crystals that display the most intense bright magenta color! The dense coverage of Roselite essentially covers the entire front of the elongate triangular piece of matrix and the crystals display prominently. Roselite is a hydrated calcium-cobalt arsenate and is the cobalt analogue of Wendwilsonite; the two often occur together and may do so on this piece. This piece is particularly sparkling and pretty compared to most, and would be from late 1980s era finds. (note Dr. Pohl's catalog actually said this was from Toussit, as early dealers bringing this out tried to hide the true origin location and buy themselves time to get more specimens). This is a special, showy specimen. It is not the same as more modern specimens, which have less sparkle and color flash.
