Item Description
A stunning and beautiful, 8.2 cm wide tiara of gemmy and lustrous, multi-hued, rose quartz points courses across the crest of the large partially euhedra quartz matrix on this outstanding and sculptural example from this noted locale. The crystals reach about 2.0 cm. The 3.6 cm cluster of cauliflower-looking, lustrous, brown lepidolite crystals is a very fine accent. The piece looks great from either side. The small bruised area on the frontal display face of the tiara is noted, but is certainly only a modest detraction. The tiara on the back is pristine. The quartz immediately below the tiara on the back side is contacted, but has very little actual damage. A striking combination from this famous pegmatite located in a small island on the Jequitinhonha River. Rose quartz is actually quite rare in nature, occurring in good specimens of display quality from a very few localities. A very fine, two-sided CABINET specimen from this locale. Valued at $2000
