Rose Quartz on Quartz with Zanazziite (ex Al Kidwell Collection)

This piece was labeled as coming from Conselheiro Pena, but it's almost certainly from the Ilha Claim near Taquaral, as it matches many pieces I've seen from the locality in terms of style and associations. Additionally, the associated species on the label is Eosphorite, but it's clearly Zanazziite. This piece is an attractive miniature specimen hosting excellent, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, beautiful pink colored crystals of Rose Quartz, which are overgrowing a previous generation of slightly smoky colored Quartz. The small olive-green colored group of Zanazziite can be seen wedged between a couple Rose Quartz crystals. Some of the topmost Rose Quartz crystals are notably GEMMY, nearly water-clear when backlit. Great quality and very eye-catching. Old classic material dating back to the mid 1970s.
