Item Description

Glassy, sharply terminated, pretty blush-pink rose quartz crystals are aesthetically and strikingly set on bladed muscovite on this old-time specimen from Newry, Maine. The two, complex stepped-growth quartz crystals look like enechelon pink rocket ships viewed vertically! The larger of the two crystals is doubly terminated. A faded older handwritten paper label is glued to the bottom of the box this piece is in. Showy and very uncommon material in this quality and richness from this classic US locale for rose quartz, discovered in 1942. Such specimens are VERY RARE and hard to obtain today. Valued $500. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
