Item Description

Some of the finest crystallized Rose Quartz in the world is found in Brazil. This is a fine display specimen featuring gem quality to translucent, lustrous, pink color crystals forming a beautiful "spray". Typically even small Rose Quartz crystals have a bit of a "milky" quality to them, but some of the crystals on this specimen are virtually water-clear. This specimen is about 40 years old. It looks beautiful up close. This piece comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The piece comes mounted in a "Perky" box with a typed label on the base from Wulff.
