Item Description
Roscoelite is an uncommon Mica Group species containing vanadium and is found in low temperature epithermal Au-Ag-Te deposits and oxidized portions of sedimentary U-V deposits (MINDAT). This old specimen is solid roscoelite and hails from this obscure Colorado district containing precious and base metal deposits. Not pretty to look at, but specimens of ANY species are RARE from this district and this is a significant and very rich specimen of the species. Ex Columbia University, American Museum and Eugene Carmichael Collections. A must for the locality or species collector and with a fine provenance.
