Item Description

Rosasite is not necessarily rare from Tsumeb, but it's certainly not seen terribly often. Many of the pieces you'll find which feature Rosasite are the classic pseudomorphs replacing Malachite after Azurite, but THIS piece features just Rosasite, in radiating velvety "balls" showing a rich turquoise blue color. Associated gem colorless rhombs of Calcite along with silvery vitreous Smithsonite can be seen on the piece, plus there are some pale greenish-yellow patches of what is likely either Duftite or Bayldonite. Good quality, best seen up close, and hard to find on the market today.
From the collection of Colin Manlove.
