Item Description

I've only seen a handful of Rosasites from the Southwest Mine in Bisbee, and this one might be the first pseudomorph I've seen after Azurite. This full-sized miniature features bluish-green colored velvety pseudomorphs of Rosasite which have replaced the preexisting blocky and bladed Azurite crystals sitting on oxidized matrix. The piece is in great shape overall, and looks great from several angles. I love the directional chatoyant luster of the pseudomorphs, which almost have a semi-metallic appearance when rotated in the light. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11247). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
