Item Description

A cool Rosasite specimen from this lesser known Cu-Ag-Pb-Zn-Au-Mn-W-Mo mine in far southern central Arizona. The piece hosts many small, light blue-green spherical aggregates of Rosasite with associated Calcite on beautifully contrasting gossan matrix. A wonderful piece compositionally, and truly eye-catching for the color combination. You don't see a lot of specimens from the Omega Mine on the market these days. o damage that I can see with the naked eye. This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The piece comes mounted in a "Perky" box from Wulff. A wonderfully historic and eye-catching specimen of this well-known material which was collected in 1991 by Wulff himself.
