Item Description

Wow! This is certainly the most spectacular and unusual LARGE CABINET rosasite and calcite specimen we have offered at auction from the recent December, 2009 find at the famed Mina Ojuela. Gorgeous, teal-blue rosasite carpets much of the front of the incredibly sculptural matrix. A few sparkly, gem-like calcite rhombs add to the attractiveness. BUT, what really stands out are the large tubes of matrix casted after large dissolved-away selenite crystals! They look like tube worm holes or hollow coral colonies. The tube with the wide mouth at the top comes out on the back and is 12.0 cm long! The back is another story! Scintillating gem-like calcite rhombs carpet everything on the undulating surface, the rosasite and the gossan matrix. This is a breathtaking and impressive, large two-sided piece. How do you put a value on something as unique as this?? 5.3 pounds or 2.4 kilos. MUCH MORE IMPACTFUL IN PERSON!!
