Ojuela Mine in modern times has produced a few special pockets of minerals not seen before from there, in quality not seen before, and then they come and go rapidly and you wonder where they all went! The rosasite find was just such a case, as these came out only over 2 years, in the mid 2010's, and then no more good ones have been found since. This is a large, dramatic piece. I am particularly fond of the way the undulating, velvety, botryoids of intensely blue-green rosasite, to 2.0 cm across, have swirled about as if about to encircle the underlying limonite matrix. The lower knobs are covered by rosasite, thus when viewing the specimen from above, they look glacier-like as they creep across. Rosasite is, overall, a fairly rare species and this is a large and beautiful example with good aesthetics. Valued $1000-1500
