Item Description
Roeblingite is an ultra-rare Pb-Ca-Mn silicate named for famous engineer, inventor, builder and mineral collector, Washington Roebling. This translucent, pastel-pink, thumbnai chunk is from the "original" specimen discovered in 1897 from the Parker Shaft at Franklin and given to Roebling. It was subsequently presented to Sam Gordon at the Philadelphia Academy, then to the Robert Hesse and Richard Kosnar Collections. SW reddish-orange fluorescence. Rare, old material with an outstanding provenance. A MUST for the Franklin collector!
