Item Description
This custom-bound, Hardbound cloth, Rocks & Minerals set is the personal library edition maintained by the late collector F. John Barlow. The high quality binding alone must have cost a fortune, but he wsa a notorious book afficionado and money was no object on his own library. It includes the very old, rare, hard to obtain Volume #1 from 1926, through #52 (1977). There are a total of 470 hard bound books as the first few years of smaller editions and fewer issues, are bound together. This set is an invaluable reference for historic finds, articles, and advertisements of the so-called golden age of minerals and mineral collecting. For the price, I think this is a bargain (I am selling it for a friend). Normally, a run like this should go for $2000 IF YOU CAN FIND ONE...and I do not know of any for sale. NOTE ON SHIPMENT: this set will be dropshipped and you will be charged afterwards only the cost of shipment, as it was billed to me. For those who do not follow this magazine today, I can tell you I have been a subscriber for over 20 years and it is well worth it! Each book measures 9 inches tall by 6 inches deep. The set takes up 78 inches of shelf space. More can be found on their website at: http://www.rocksandminerals.org
