Item Description

This is a unique variety of Quartz from the finest occurrence in the world. Ametrine is a naturally occurring purple and yellow bi-color variety that is formed by a unique twin law ("Brazil Law Twinning") where two separate individually colored crystals are intergrown to form an alternating "radiation" pattern of purple and yellow triangles when viewed down the c axis. The two colors are oriented based upon their position inside the crystal to create the famous bicolor gemstones. This particular gem is a unique, one-of-a-kind, superb, well cut, 55/45 purple/yellow bicolor, "Emerald" cut gemstone set into an attractive Sterling Silver band. The entire piece was designed, sculpted and assembled by Brett Kosnar of Mineral Classics and Kosnar Gem Co. As you can see from the excellent photos, the beautiful bicolor appearance is lively in person. The band is thick and sturdy, and this one-of-a-king design featuring the somewhat celtic soft swirling appearance against the band makes for a great contrast. It has come to my attention that the Ametrine mine is no longer in production of this material and the market has quickly "dried up". Don't miss this opportunity to own a unique, colorful, good sized, naturally occuring bicolor gemstone set into an eye-catching ring. A great gift idea for the upcoming holidays, as I'm sure there are many women out there who don't own an Ametrine ring. Retail value on this piece is $550.
