Item Description
Classic, uncommon and desirable "rice-grain" smithsonite from the famed Kelly Mine. Beautiful turquoise-blue, translucent rounded "rice-grain" botryoids with gorgeous silky luster are richly and aesthetically invested on the upright sculptural vuggy matrix. The smithsonite richly covers all sides of this artistic 360-degree specimen. Rice-grains along with trigonal smithsonite are rare compared to other botryoidal forms from the Kelly. Ex Karl Warning Collection and acquired in Magdalena in May, 1995 in the shallow root cellar of Tony Otero's miner's shack. Tony was a well-known Kelly miner, caretaker, mineral collector and dealer in Magdalena. An exceptional, rich and uncommon Kelly rice-grain smithsonite from a primary Kelly dealer.
