Item Description

The Franklin Mine is famous for its suite of minerals, with Rhodonite high in this pantheon of classic USA finds. These tabular crystals, which reach up to 3.2 cm on edge, have an excellent, raspberry-red color and good luster. The en echelon stacking of the crystals is highly aesthetic and very unusual. There is even fluorescent (green) Willemite and fluorescent (orange) Calcite to make this combination even more of a Franklin classic. A choice, highly representative specimen for this great, historic locality. This is robust, with good color and fine terminations, complete all around. Values on these do range, depending on how far you are from those "Franklin-collecting fanatics" on the East Coast, but this is easily a $2500 specimen at any show. Superb!
