Item Description
Lustrous, vibrant reddish-pink rhodonite blades in parallel-growth clusters are attractively set on the sculptural mounded miniature from the San Martin Mine of Peru. Uncommon clusters of tiny, lustrous sphalerite crystals are a fine contrast and accessory. Specimens were intermittently recovered between 1989 and 2008 and are considered to be among the finest crystallized examples of the species in the world. A showy and excellent example with association to sphalerite, this is from the 1998 pocket, with the biggest and most robust crystals of the zone of discoveries. It is immediately recognizable, and these are classics of the era, that still stand out in collections. The hot pink color is gorgeous in person. Valued $1500-plus.
