Rhodonite w/ Spessartine Garnet (early 1900s classic)

These amazing rhodonites predate WW1 and come from the early mining at Broken Hill. Very FEW ever turn up on the market today, and this one is really beautiful and richly crystallized on galena matrix with minor apatite as well. It is a good size, and has an unusual amount of color concentration in the upright crystals, as usually they are a mix of good and pale colors, or have too many broken crystals on the display face. These sharp, cherry-red rhodonite, reach to 1.7 cm in length. There is even a druze of lustrous and gemmy spessartine crystals present in the lower half of the specimen. It carries an old dealer label at $3500, from the previous owner.
