Item Description
This choice rhodonite crystal is in superb condition, with a natural, sharp termination that is historically documented but seldom seen from Broken Hill. These transparent pocket-growth crystals are different than more modern deep red rhodonites from the 1960s and 1970s that are extracted from galena, and date to the turn of the 1900s mining era here. Valued $1000-1500. Ex. Jingnan (Tom) Zhang Collection, and found at Tucson one year in an old collection. This is competitive quality, razor sharp, and of a quality and rarity that you simply do not expect to ever see one for sale. Valued $1500-plus.
