Item Description
Colorful, impressive and RARE style rhodonite from a 2011 find at this obscure medium-sized Fe-Zn-Pb-(Ag-Cu-W) skarn deposit in remote Inner Mongolia. Cherry-red, glassy, striated/stepped-growth sections of LARGE rhodonite crystals compriste the front of this striking plate. All specimens featured in the MINDAT Photo Gallery for the species are aggregates of much smaller flattened prismatic crystals. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $145, for free. A rare, perhaps unique style of excellent and large platy rhodonite prisms from the locale. It resembles classic rhodonites from the Morro da Mina mine, Conselheiro Lafaiete, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Valued at $1000-1500.
