Item Description

A 3.5 cm, sharp and sharply terminated, translucent, rose-red, rhodonite crystal is jauntily set in the side of the rhodonite, franklinite and calcite monolith on this dramatic and excellent older combination specimen from Franklin. The large crystal is very fine for the locale. Specimens of this quality were mined 75-100 years ago. Classic combination material. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and purchased from Walt Lidstrom in 1969. Formerly in the Smithsonian Collection, according to Bob's label. Bright orange SW fluorescence. Valued $1250 for high quality.
