Item Description
Gemmy, partially euhedral, electric pinkish-red Rhodonite crystals on matrix from this classic discovery in Brazil. There is contacting, but this remains a good representative specimen for the species and it is not from Broken Hill. The main crystal measures 8 mm, and even though it's not 100% complete, it does have several good faces on it. I like the fact that the main crystal is well-isolated, and jutting out of the matrix for dramatic flair. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
