Rhodonite (Crystal and gemstone set)

A rough and cut set from new finds at this famous ol dmanganese mine, now bring worked again for the small, narrow veins of rhodonite. This set includes a sharp crystal of about an inch, very gemmy and translucent (terminated though with some edge wear and a cleave on one side, it displays well); and also the gemstone which measures 1.5 x 0.6 x 0.5 cm and 5.6 carats. The gem is included, as most such stones are, but still huge by anyhistorical standard for this species, to own a cut gem from. If from Australian rough, the gem alone would be worth thousands. In Brazilian material, the going price should be around $500 for the gem. The crystal is 38 carats, or about 8 grams. They complement very nicely.
