Item Description
A classic specimen hosting a very good sized, sharp, well-formed, prismatic Rhodonite with a few additional crystals of Rhodonite associated with typical grey-white Calcite and minor black Franklinite and reddish brown Willemite on the reverse side. The Rhodonite crystal has good form and sharp faces, though it is contacted in areas. The piece is repaired, as the main crystal has broken at some point (perhaps it happened in the pocket before it was even removed from the ground). With that said, it's not common to find 2-inch+ crystals of Rhodonite from any world locality, and Franklin might be considered the most classic locale for the species in the world. This material is some of the most well known (and easily recognizable) from all of Franklin. A good large miniature / small cabinet sized specimen of this world famous material. The piece is accompanied by labels from Ralph J. Holmes and Roy A. Smith (both indicate the piece is repaired). Priced in our inventory at $950.
