Item Description

The Rhodonites from the Franklin Mine in New Jersey are some of the most iconic examples of the species ever found. Their superb form, size and color are unmistakable. This piece is a showy small cabinet sized specimen hosting several sharp, well-formed, thick, blocky crystals of a saturated pink hue measuring up to 4.2 cm associated with minor grey Calcite and a bit of black Franklinite on the back. There are several distinct, euhedral crystal faces that can be seen, but please note that there are some contacted areas, so the piece is not without damage. A lovely example of this famous material, perhaps the best known mineral from all of Franklin, where literally hundreds of species have been found.
