Lustrous, rose-red, rhodonite crystal sections in striking opposing parallel-growth clusters form a very rich, sculptural and aesthetic specimen from Franklin. The crystals reach 3.3 cm. Rhodonite is a Holy Grail species from Franklin and this is an exceptional specimen. The rhodonite is embedded in fluorescent calcite matrix with franklinite and willemite crystals. Specimens of this richness and quality are uncommon and this fine piece is from the George Elling Collection, a noted Franklin specialist.
