Item Description
A pretty polished miniature slab of rose-pink Rhodonite and brownish-black Braunite from the famous Langban Mine of Sweden. Both species are manganese silicates, are uncommon for the local and combination specimens are RARE. Langban, a metamorphosed manganese-iron deposit with extremely complex skarns and pegmatites is one of the world's great mineral localities with 313 valid species and is the Type Locality for 76 minerals (MINDAT). Ex Bill Wilson Collection. We just obtained specimens from his collection and many are from Harvard. A fine and rare combination example of the species and historic locale.
