Item Description
Some of the finest crystallized Rhodonite specimens come from the Morro da Mina Mine in Brazil. Not only are they beautiful in terms of color and gemminess, but they're also well-formed to boot! The classic Rhodonite crystals from Franklin New Jersey are almost always opaque, and the Peruvian Rhodonites are never as well-formed as their Brazilian counterparts, so in my mind, the Morro da Mina pieces are excellent for the species, and their only rival are the classic crystals from Broken Hill, Australia. This piece is a decent example of said material featuring a very sharp, well-formed, lustrous, partial crystal with a fiery reddish-pink hue. When backlit, the color GLOWS. The crystal is not complete, but the color, gemminess and vibrant color are still quite admirable.
