Rhodonite

A very fine, red-pink, translucent crystal of the rare manganese silicate species Rhodonite. Before this important find at an old industrial manganese mine in Brazil, the only few crystals of quality came out of Australia at the turn of the 1900's. Because of this great find, there is now a limited supply showy Rhodonite crystals on the market. This particular crystal is nearly two inches in maximum dimension with a few well developed crystal faces with one termination and it has an intense red-pink color and its translucent! Two of the prism faces are lightly striated with good luster. Many of these, like this one, grow frozen in matrix and are difficult to remove, as a result they are often contacted at a a couple of their edges like this one. This is a gorgeous crystal with vibrant color that can be seen across a room! This should easily be valued over $1000, as the size and sharpness are hard to come by at any reasonable price range
