Rhodonite

Rhodonite is a well-known manganese silicate mineral, but it's not often found in good sized, well-formed crystals. The specimens from the Morro da Mina Mine in Brazil are unquestionably some of the finest examples of the species, featuring large, colorful and gemmy crystals. This piece is an attractive miniature featuring a predominant, sharp, lustrous, well-formed, rich pinkish-red colored crystal measuring 3.3 cm across, sitting atop additional Rhodonite crystal matrix. The glassy surface, along with the fiery interior of the main crystal is quite alluring, and it's in amazingly good condition, as the top edges are complete, and the only roughness is along the base where it was separated from the pocket wall. A wonderful and very eye-catching example of these remarkable Rhodonites. Valued at $2,000.
