Rhodolite Garnet (LARGE stone)

The Rhodolites from Tanzania are the best examples of this specific variety of Garnet in the world. They are often found in larger-than-average sized gems compared to other Garnet species/varieties, but THIS particular stone is notably larger than even what is considered a big Rhodolite. I would say that stones in the 4-5 carat range are generally agreed to be good sized examples, and this stone is approach 10 carats(!). It's not just a big "clunker" either, as it has excellent fiery pinkish-red color and superb clarity. I can't find any inclusions with the naked eye, which is quite impressive for a stone this size. It would make a fantastic center stone for a pendant or a big ring, and it's close to being calibrated at 14x11mm. The stone has a standard "Oval Brilliant" cut and looks great face up, and it has plenty of life, and it's not "black", like so many Garnets can be when they reach this large size.
