Item Description

A beautiful, strong reddish-pink Rhodolite Garnet from the famed Umba River (Umba Valley) in Tanzania. This area for quite a few years now has produced the finest gem Rhodolites in the world, with superb color and clarity. Historically, the name Rhodolite was used to describe the rose colored variety of Pyrope, but in recent years many pinkish colored Garnets in the Almandine-Pyrope series are labeled as Rhodolite. This gem has a strong red color face up, and is only very very slightly included. The cut on this stone is a "Concave Emerald" cut. It is a lovely stone from the premier part of the world for the material.
