Item Description

This is something we can rarely sell at auction, due to their replacement cost and desirability on any mineral market - a small cab sized, red rhodo on quartz. It came out in the early 2000s from the New Watercourse Raise series of pockets at the end of the workable life of the Sweet Home Mine. The specimen features cherry red rhodo crystals to 1.6 cm across (on the bigger central crystal), nicely displayed with accenting quartz matrix, and on a well trimmed specimen overall. The piece has a good display face and horizons, and a bit of tennantite for accent in the upper left corner. It is without damage of note on the display face, which is rare enough, and has no repairs or restoration. This specimen is easily worth $3500 to $5000 based on current dealer pricing I have seen at shows, and we offer it here as part of a tradeout liquidation, when normally I would just stash these for the future.
