Rhodochrosite with Quartz and Pyrite

Item Description

Isolated discs and rosettes of flattened, pink Rhodochrosite rhombs form a fine specimen from older finds at the Wutong Mine in China. The entire display front is covered in the pastel pink, disc-like Rhodos from 3 mm to 1.8 cm that display a satin luster. The crystals are all slightly interlocked and still show their very distinct form and some are in rosettes of bladed crystals. A few clear Quartz crystals are present near the periphery with some terminated and some not. The bottom-side is dominated by white, milky Quartz and scattered 1 to 3 mm Pyrite cubes. Old material from early finds, early 2000s era.
