Rhodochrosite with Quartz

A classic specimen of the most famous Rhodochrosites in the world. The Sweet Home Mine is one of the most iconic localities extant due to its production of the finest quality red rhombic Rhodochrosite in the world. This piece is from the early mining done by Collector's Edge (possibly from the Hedgehog pocket) featuring a 2.0 cm, predominant, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, reddish-pink rhomb of Rhodochrosite associated with white "needle" Quartz and minor sulfides (Sphalerite, Tetrahedrite and Pyrite) on matrix. The main crystal is contacted on the top, but it's so hard to find solitary isolated rhombs like this on matrix. I don't have to tell you that the value of these specimens keeps rising, and pieces like this are becoming harder to find on the market.
